Empowering Denver’s Refugee Community: A Conversation with Hanna Simmons
This week on Community Corner, we had the privilege of sitting down with Hanna Simmons from the International Rescue Committee (IRC) of Denver. The IRC is dedicated to offering vital resources and support to some of the city’s most vulnerable populations, including refugees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture, and other immigrants. With a mission grounded in compassion and empowerment, the IRC works tirelessly to help these individuals rebuild their lives and integrate into the local community.
During our conversation, Hanna shared insights into the IRC’s impactful programs and how they address the unique challenges faced by those they serve. From providing housing and employment assistance to offering mental health services and legal aid, the IRC’s comprehensive approach ensures that immigrants and refugees receive the support they need to thrive in their new environment.
