THE DROP 104.7 and KUVO JAZZ 89.3 are all about supporting our incredible local music community! Last Friday, KUVO JAZZ 89.3 and 104.7 THE DROP welcomed international recording artist and American Idol Alumna, SUCH, to the Masterpiece Theatre at the Buell Public Media Center for an exclusive debut of her latest music video and a live performance with her band. Following the performance and music video debut, our own Morning DROP co-host Amerykah Jones had a live Q&A session with SUCH, people asked some great questions and both ‘Merykah and Such DROPPED some amazing advice! It was ‘SUCH’ a special night!
The set had all the vibes! It was intimate and cozy, perfect for SUCH’s soothing vocals and passionate songs!

People asked some great questions. We were able to learn a lot about SUCH and her musical journey. They also touched on how the pandemic impacted her, as it did many performers and musicians that really thrive on the energy of a live crowd, for much of the pandemic, performers weren’t able to connect with their audience in person. SUCH had talked about how not being able to perform for a live audience impacted her.
The energy that I get from an audience is incredible and I think I really had to figure out, who am I when I don’t perform live? SUCH said at the start of the Q&A.
Amerykah Jones added that live music was the part she missed the most:
Music is a connector. Doesn’t matter what we look like, how much money we have. We can be connected through the notes, through those artists, through that interpretation.

After the performance, premiere and Q&A, we did a champagne toast to congratulate Such on her music video! Followed by some tasty desserts.
“I Can’t Stop Loving You” is a cover song, but SUCH sprinkled some “SUCH Sauce” on it to make it her own! This was the first time SUCH had dancers in her music video, the dancers in the music video are Corey Boatner and Nyna Moore. Choreographed by Christopher Page-Sanders. Congrats, SUCH!
